Q.Are you Gas Safe registered?
Yes. Pro-Tect Heating & Plumbing is Gas Safe registered under number 637911 — which by law is required for any work on your boiler, gas fires or gas appliances. We're also LPG qualified, so bottled and bulk-gas properties off the mains network are covered too.
Q.What does a gas / boiler service cost?
Annual gas appliance servicing starts from £75, and there are multi-appliance deals if you have more than one appliance to service at the same time — for example a boiler and a gas fire. Give the office a ring on 0121 272 5558 and we'll give you a clear price.
Q.Do you fit new boilers, and is there a warranty?
Yes — we supply and install new boilers across all the major brands. As a Vaillant Approved and Baxi Associate installer we fit boilers to manufacturer standard, which means your new boiler can carry an extended manufacturer warranty. We'll help you choose the right unit for your home.
Q.Can you come out in an emergency?
Yes. Alongside the Monday-to-Friday office hours, Pro-Tect runs a 24-hour line for genuine emergencies — heating and plumbing breakdowns, leaking cylinders, malfunctioning boilers and gas fires. If it can't wait, call and we'll help.
Q.Do you do landlord gas safety checks (CP12)?
Yes. We carry out annual landlord gas safety inspections and issue the CP12 gas safety certificate for rental properties, keeping landlords compliant. Regular customers can book a reminder each year so it's never left to the last minute.
Q.What areas do you cover?
We're based in Olton, Solihull, and cover Solihull and the surrounding areas — Castle Bromwich, Kingshurst, Smiths Wood, Fordbridge, Chelmsley Wood, Meriden, Elmdon and Lyndon — plus the wider West Midlands. If you're not sure you're in reach, just ring the office and ask.
Q.Do you fit smart heating controls like Hive and Nest?
Yes. As part of our energy-saving and smart technology work we install Hive and Nest smart heating controls, so you can run your heating from your phone and cut down on wasted gas. We'll set it up and show you how it works before we leave.
Q.What plumbing work do you take on?
Everyday plumbing as well as heating — leak detection and repair, outside tap installation, full bathroom installations and macerator replacement, plus additional and designer radiators, powerflushing, unvented hot water cylinders and underfloor heating. If in doubt, ask.
